Paints + coatings

We were commissioned by a colour trade association to undertake research into how colour was specified, and, more specifically, how its colour specification system was experienced and used by specifiers. The commission followed our early work developing a marketing strategy for a major paint supplier's colour system.

The research involved extensive qualitative research to gain insights into the experience of colour specifiers across a range of sectors. It covered issues ranging from the user experience of the association's system, to the format for achieving the optimum user experience when presenting proposals for colour schemes.

Our findings were presented at the association's annual conference. They were then subsequently used to enhance the association's systems and and to suggest how members could offer their own clients an even more effective and compelling experience.
